How To Apply for homeschooling in malaysia
Step 1: Submit An Application
Please complete the Homeschool Admission Form and submit the necessary supporting documents to our admissions office at our Shah Alam Homeschool in person. If the applicant has an individual or special educational need, please provide relevant specialist reports, if available. Please note that the school reserves the right to withdraw a place from a prospective or current student if an individual or special educational need has not been disclosed.
Required supporting documentation includes:
- Recent passport photo of the child
- Copy of the child's identification documents (e.g., NRIC, Birth certificate, or Passport page)
- School reports for the two most recent years
- Copy of the parents' identification documents (e.g., NRIC and Passport page)
Step 2: Parent Meeting And Entrance Assessment
- Parent Meeting: We conduct a 20-minute parent meeting to foster transparent communication and discuss how the school can meet the needs of each family considering enrollment.
- Assessment Session: Depending on the age of the child, an assessment session will be conducted. For Primary to Secondary School applicants, the session includes a series of assessments and a writing sample, lasting approximately 60-120 minutes per subject. Preschool applicants will be observed during play while their basic skills are explored.
- The outcome of Assessment: After the assessment, we arrange a meet-up session with the applicant and parents to discuss the assessment results and confirm the appropriate year group placement.
Step 3: Offer & Admission
Successful applicants will be offered a place at Ashtel IGCSE Homeschool in Shah Alam.
An offer letter and necessary documents will be issued after the parent meeting and student assessment.
Families must submit a signed Letter of Acceptance and payment proof to secure the placement.
If the applied year level is full, accepted applicants will be placed on the Waiting List, requiring re-application for the next school year.
Parents must agree to the School Rules and Regulations to accept and secure a place at Ashtel Academy.
